The UETC was founded in April 2004 with a mission of promoting awareness of marine and freshwater environments and ecosystems. It is also our goal to encourage our young people to enter the marine sciences through education, outreach, scholarships, seminars and research expeditions which will allow participants to take part in bonafide scientific research. |

UETC was founded by Peter Marck who, along with a few others, are avid scuba divers dedicated to preserving the marine environment and to bringing awareness to the public regarding the state of our oceans, lakes, rivers streams and ponds across the United States. Each member of the UETC board brings a unique qualification to the organization and the dive team. |
Members and the general public will be able to participate in scientific expeditions to study sharks, sea turtles, whales and other animals. There will also be a way for members and non-members to accompany the UETC television production crew on location and take part in the making of educational documentaries for use in the classroom. |
